Evolution of Russian-South Korean Relations: from First Contacts to Integration Projects

Abstract

The author regards the evolution of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea since the early 1990s to the present days. Personal contribution of Russian Presidents V. Putin and D. Medvedev, the ROK Presidents Kim Young-sam, Kim Dae-jung, Rho Moo-hyun, Lee Myung-bak, Park Geun-hye to the development of comprehensive relations between the two countries is characterized. The article evaluates on the possibilities of participation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea in integration in East Asia and Eurasia.
