Abstract

The article deals with some aspects of the history of law in Kazakhstan. It is dedicated to Ch.Ch. Valihanov, the first Kazakh scientist who studied common law under which the population of the Great Steppe lived. Valihanov developed recommendations for the royal administration of the region of Siberian Kirghiz. The author analyzes his «Notes on Judicial Reform» and highlights its current value.
